The Next Gen Engineering Challenge

Posted January 28, 2008 8:21 AM

Industry has faced many challenges in the past several decades, but perhaps the most critical shortage now is one of skilled workers to fill the gap created by experienced employees leaving the workforce. The need to inspire and motivate the next generation of engineering talent for the manufacturing sector has never been greater. And industry is rising to the occasion with a "groundswell of activity aimed at fostering the next generation of engineers," says Marc Moschetto. He describes how organizations as diverse as the Discovery Channel, National Instruments, and various universities are contributing to inspire future engineers.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Industrial Automation, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Industrial Automation today.

Volens-nolens the next generations will fill up the gaps created in the many from now one new technology fields. It's a well known syndrome from the oldest generations that teenagers can not grasp whatever their parents know or created already; these misconception was never confirmed by reality after-that.

I'm sure the next generation will have the power and the necessary skill to adapt at the required high-tech complexities, they have the necessary talent to surprise us in a positive sense.
