What's Your Favorite Car from an 80s Movie?

Pathfinder Tags: 1964 malibu 3M chevy malibu reflective coatings reflective paint

So what's your favorite car from an 80s movie? I think I'm going with the '64 Malibu in Repo Man. Here's some trivia on the car from IMDB: "No special effects were used to make the Chevy Malibu glow while parked at the repossession lot. Instead, the car was completely coated with 3M reflective paint, at an approximate price of $600 per bucket."

I've got to go with the 1958 Plymouth Fury used in John Carpenter's Christine. That was one tough machine (even though it was possessed). A continuation of that movie today would be a real hit, at least IMHO.

Steve MQueens car in Bullet but wasn't that before 1980?

Back to the future delorean off course

The GT500 in that chase movie (forgot the name) and also in the anime Gunsmith cats

and many more

Sorry, I didn't see your post before I made mine below (where I chose the Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit II (the first was in the 70s)).

To answer your question, I don't know how many others have, but I definitely dreamed of having a ride like that. My neighbor several houses down had a black Trans Am in the early eighties. I was like 8 years old and thought it was the coolest car ever. The truth is, deep down, I think I still do.

My first thought was the used cop car that Jake and Elwood drove in Blues Brothers. It's not much to look at, but caused the biggest car pileup in movie history.

The DeLorean from Back to the Future was cool in the first movie, but got really silly in the sequels.

Any votes for the ambulance from Ghostbusters?

Being a young teenager in 1979 I absolutely fell in love with the black Cuda in the original Phantasm movie.

I want the Delorean from "Back to the Future"!!

I have discovered that if you take a 25 volt aluminum electrolytic capacitor and put 100 volt DC across it, you can get a real fluxed up capacitor.
