Enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) software purportedly takes information from the manufacturing floor from the individual machine to the production line and puts it in easy-to-understand formats for a variety of different employee categories, keeping everyone informed without information overload. As EMI joins ERP and MES, CMMS and EAM, it begs the question: why can't software programs present data in understandable ways without always requiring a new program to better filter and present operational data?
