balance a magnet "N" on the "N" end of another magnet, you'll have the basis of "Mag-Lev"

Ok, now arrange several magnets N.S.N.S.N.S.N.S.N.S.N.S.N.S.N.S.N.S staggering them so the magnets dont touch, on the top of a similar staggered poles of the supporting magnets that are something like N.S.S.N.S.S.N.S.S.N.S.S.N.S.S.N.S.S.N.S.S.N.S.S this is so it doesn't slip 1 magnet and bond the whole distance together..

Next replace the Top magnets with solenoids and electronically control them to rotate the field along its length, you should get something like a "Magnetic wave" this should propel your vehicle along the magnetic track.

will take some playing to get it right, but its the general gist of how they work ;o)
