PARTICLE SIZE FOR PIG BOOSTER

11/17/2007 12:43 AM

what is the correct particle size for pig booster? our nutritionist is asking for 300 microns but as of today the cooked extruded corn that we had is only averaging at about 535 microns.

My guess is they want to feed the piglet a high surface area corn mash so it digests very quickly = 300 micron. Why?? digestive enzymes work from surface in, small = faster.

In both those shots there is only one exhaust plume, surely the pig can add some thrust :)

I believe the primary impulse is provided by the outboard solid rocket booster (SRB); The onboard "biologic thruster" is used intermittantly during flight, to adjust roll, pitch & yaw...

hmmmmmmmm. it seems to me that all the guru's of cr4 doesnt know the subject matter.

latest research says that the finest particle size that is suitable for piglet is 500 to 600 microns.. may i ask why your nutritionist look for 300 microns? what is the basis for such request? making particles smaller means higher cost with your production which do not contribute to animal feed convertion ratio and may bring harm to piglet?

Yup. They stumped me with the pig feed particle size question. Shall we discuss photolithography? Perhaps inert gas backflow contamination to a volatile system and corrective action? Or girls. Those things I know something about.

"Mmmm. Nope, not as I reckon. Seems like an awful long time since I had ta do any engineerin' on pigs... How 'bout you?"

"No. Can't say as I ever had ta engineer one of them thar pigs."

"Hey. Let's ask Einstein. You know, that hairy fella that lives down the road a piece"

"Yeah. He just might know somethin' about engineerin' a pig."
