Ferrari Enzo Accident

03/02/2006 5:34 PM

A few days ago an ultra rare Ferrari Enzo was destroyed in an alcohol fueled racing accident on the Pacific Coast Highway outside of Malibu. The $1 million dollar Enzo, one of only 400 in existence, is believed to have been traveling at over 160 MPH, when it went airborne, crashed into a power pole and split in half. Amazingly, the (possible) owner and (possible) driver (you really have to read the story and watch the video news report) walked away with very minor injuries.

That's pretty good design work.

Enzo the plot thickens

Mmmmmmmm, maybe. Strange state of affairs though. A german known only as Dietricht who 'ran away' & can't be found?......Ericksson just over the drink/drive limit?.....Bloody lip & blood on the airbag?.......Ammunition magazine found near the crash site?....Possibility that the car may be stolen? The plot thickens. Methinks there just may be more to this than meets the eye. Perhaps Ericksson should be resident in another type of 'gated estate'?

Indeed. It looks like at least two people / orghanizations are claiming ownership of the Enzo. After the inevitable court case, someone's insurance co is going to be very disappointed.

I believe that Copart (sells most of the insurance company write-offs in the US) sold that Ferrari or another just like it as-is for slightly more than the original sales price of $600,000 (you had to be a current Ferrari customer to get one of the Enzo's). The car ended up in Oklahoma according to the president of Copart.
