Hi Folks
I just did a release of the latest CR4 code and here are the highlights:
- Comments that have been some votes for "good answer", but not enough to "officially" be marked as a good answer are now easier to find. I call these "almost good answers", and hopefully by exposing them in this way the truly good answers will get voted on sufficiently to give the original poster credit.
- The email notifications that are sent whenever a new Private Mail Message is sent can now be controlled so that fewer are sent (just like we did for the "subscribed discussion" alerts a few months ago). You'll find the controls for this at the bottom of your Edit Profile page.
- You can now send a Private Mail Message to the owners of a blog. This makes it easier to contact "someone" when you have a question or idea. The new button is on the Blog and Blog entry pages.
- The CR4 Admins can now disable the Private Mail Message system for any given user. Anyone who attempts to send such a user a PM will be notified that this recipient is not valid. We admins may do this to users who are removed from the site, but we can also do this by request for people who do not want to receive PMs from other CR4 users.
- The editor that is used to create posts (so, the editor I am typing in right now) has changed a bit... there is now a custom "right-click" menu that allows images already in the post to be manipulated quickly. No new functionality was added though.
So, nothing earth-shattering, but it has been a while since I did a release and I hate sitting on changes for too long.
Thanks
- Mark
