Cleanliness,packing &rust prevention

05/12/2008 1:13 AM

Hello Friends

I need help from your end.

I want to know about these topics which I mentioned bellow

* cleanliness: metal parts have to be clean before they are assembled. This to avoid damage during the running-in phase. For example: Burs have to be removed, dust has to be avoided as much as possible, Hard particles have to be removed, how to quantify the cleanliness, ...

* corrosion protection: search for criteria (norm) which categorises the amount of corrosion

* Packaging, transport, stock: map different things that could cause damage to components of gearboxes and search for official documentation (norms) on how to limit them.

on the above i want to know about the standards and company norms..

with regards

DGs

Simple self test; wear white gloves when handling the parts if gloves get dirty clean parts better.
