I'm not a real survivalist or anything, but I do keep my backpacking and survival gear ready to go out the door at a moments notice, with enough food for a few days.
So, something really big happens, ( like a Katrina in Massachusetts ), and I don't feel safe in my home. I deem it necessary to fade into the woods, for a while. I don my gear, and unlock the gun cabinet. What do I take. How about the Ruger Mini 14 in stainless, or perhaps the Winchester Model 94, totally dependable, but their ammunition is heavy. I'm thinking the Ruger 10-22, I can carry 1000 rounds easily, good for getting dinner. Then my Colt 45 for protection.
What would you take? Or perhaps, what you would like to see in weapon designed for this purpose?
I've grown tired of all this free energy and China stuff. It's like banging your head against the wall. It's time to move on. And this might really happen someday!
