Radar? Endress + Hauser (usual disclaimer) can probably provide something appropriate.

You're going to need a differential pressure type of level transmitter. Personally, I'd use one that uses diaphragm seals.

No wait! I'd prefer radar level.

Wait! Use load cells!

Ah! It's up to you. The manual will usually have calibration instructions in it.

Pardon my saying but if you want to live up to your user name (instrumentationengineer), you'll have to learn how to find information.

If you have a manual for a differential pressure transmitter in your place (any brand), it should have calibration details there. Alternatively, you can go an instrument manufacturer's website (Foxboro, Rosemount, Yokogawa, Endress & Hauser, etc) and download a manual from them.

Calibration for all differential pressure transmitters are the same regardless of the brand. The methods may differ slightly but the calculations will be the same.

Happy hunting!

Hi, there is many good options. The calibration method will depend on the type the transmitter. I personally prefer radar transmitters when the application permits.I wouldn't use a displacer type transmitter in this kind of service. Please take this information ONLY as my personal opinion..Thank you

Simply a capacitive type level transmitter suits this application and it will be the most economical one by my opinion.

Two point calibration is enough :The low output while tank is empty and the 2nd while thak is full.

regards.

Hello everyone! One problem with the differential pressure transmitters will be the excess "dead area" and the limitations on flanges at the lower point.... I would suggest a Rosemount 5600 series radar - check the Emerson site for details
