Describe what you mean by sealed or open.

That is what I thought the terms were referring to. I work as a refrigeration engineer, and we commonly refer to these as being static and dynamic refrigerators, respectively.

Because you have not registered we can not help you much. In the USA I say do not buy anything that has AMANA on it. Consumers report is a good guide.

What would be the problem with Amana/Maytag/Whirlpool? If you like bottom freezers, Amana would seem to be a good choice--most likely, the only choice. Our Amana is approaching 10 years with never a problem and still working fine.

The seal unit I have used also used more electric power.

As I mentioned in my off topic post, I work as a refrigeration engineer, and I deal with both open (static) and sealed (dynamic) refrigerators on a daily basis.

Nowdays, when you compare current models, dynamics are more energy efficient overall. Those are the consistent results I see during testing. They are more expensive, but more efficient. If you just want something to keep food cold, a static will do and save money initially. The key is comparing comtemporary designs: an newer static will be more efficient than an old dynamic, of course, but similar designs lead to the dynamic unit being superior.

My conclusions are based upon both laboratory testing, under a wide variety of conditions, as well as data gathered during field testing across almost all the continents. Dynamics consistently demonstrate superior performance.

Dear Friend ,

OPen condensor is the best with low power consumption.

Also, place ref. in such a manner that condensor will get plenty of fresh air [breez].

clean outer surface of condensor with painting brush / cloth, to increase it `s efficiency.
