can any one tell me if there is any programmer kit out there that can program an 8951 and DS1307? if not, then is there any IC an atmel's arsenal that can function as a replacement for the DS1307?

Any language that can do machine interface & IO control should do the job.

You just need to add the class or library (from the manufacturer) to the compiler and use the functions in it to control the device.

really?!! i was planning to buy atmel microcontroller programmer for 80xx and 89xx about $40. You're saying if i add the class library to the programmer's library it can program DS1307! thats great, are you sure about this? my budget is really tight, i won't be buying another programmer. take a look at this: http://cgi.ebay.in/New-Atmel-89-Series-Microcontroller-Flash-Programmer_W0QQitemZ330258410386QQihZ014QQcategoryZ88752QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://www.kmitl.ac.th/~kswichit%20/Pgm89v31_web/Pgm89v31.html pls let me know. thanx a lot!

I DunKnow???

Had a friend or two who have used Pascal, C, C++ to address that issue. What you do with the tool, the library from the vendor is your own business.

The question seemed open ended enough to handle a general tech answer. If there is more, by all means add what you have and finish the picture.

I have seen the complete answer come in at very good prices.
