If it is a hydraulic clutch, you probably have a hydraulic leak. Check the resevoir to see if it is empty.

You do realize that you could have given a little bit more information?

If you have a cable operated clutch the cable could have broken. The cable could have stretched. The mounting bracket could have bent. the pivot arm could have bent.

Does the pedal still have the heavy feel to it?

Has it been grinding when going into reverse?

Try a few simple commonsense checks as other posters have said. Come on a site like this if there's still a problem, and you can give some facts to narrow it down.

People will be more inclined to help if you've made some effort to help yourself!

After putting the car on jack stands, ask someone to depress the clutch while you look to see whether the clutch lever shaft that enters the clutch moves. If it does not and the clutch is hydraulic and the reservoir is full of fluid, check whether there is air in the system. There is usually a bleed valve attached to the clutch master cylinder. If the clutch is mechanical and neither the cable nor the linkage is broken, then the problem is probably inside the clutch, possibly a broken diaphram. That will require replacement of the whole clutch. If you want to get maximum use from the car, replace the entire clutch (pressure plate, disk, throwout bearing and pilot bearing) and have the flywheel checked to make certain the disc contact area is not grooved or tapered.

Make sure you read the very good advice above and help yourself with some feedback or more detailed information.

Your not related to lucia by any chance? She has an accelerator pedal with a similar maladay to your clutch.

As for me, I am glad there is only the brake pedal to go.
