Blueballs Factory: How many Balls are in This Picture?

12/08/2008 11:31 PM

I rediscovered this fine schematic of automated process animated graphic during a "tidy up" of my graphics collection.

How many blue balls are in the picture?

Place your answer in your Post below.

Kind Regards....

If they stay still long enough, I would about 120 blue balls.

I should have pointed out that the Graphic is a "wrap-around" one, both vertically and horizontally.

Example:

Any ball which exits to the left of the graphic, arrives in at same elevation from the right.

Any ball which exits to the right of the graphic, arrives in at same elevation from the left.

Any ball which exits to the top of the graphic, arrives in at same reference point below from the bottom of the graphic.

Any ball which exits to the bottom of the graphic, arrives in at same reference point above from the top of the graphic.

Can you get the exact number?

Enjoy.

Kind Regards....

You should try converting this into one of your smileys.

I'm going with 105. Alternately a correct response could be 103 since 2 turn red.

My wife is right, as much as I enjoy this forum, perhaps I may have too much time on my hands lately.

Answers: 217 This answer appeared from nowhere, when I tried to freeze the graphics. Blue spots before my eyes tonight, I think I'll go back to counting sheep.

There are some health & safety issues.

I doubt that the repeated decapitation of the blokes top and bottom centre, is being done in a humane fashion.

I think there is just one ball of extremely uncertain whereabouts.

I originally got my graphic off an internet website a few years ago, but it had a dark background, perhaps being a corrupted version.

I removed the dark background, so the process could easily be seen.

It does appear to be a section of a larger graphic.

For those interested, there is a larger graphic version here: http://blueballfixed.ytmnd.com/

As may be seen there, the graphic there has also been "fixed" and is more impressive.

It is good to see where the balls actually go.

A true example of mass production techniques.

Now all that needs to be done, after your ball count, is to discover the graphic designer.

Kind Regards....

I saw 5 paths, however more balls are in play at one time in each of the 5 paths; in levels of 5 or ten balls per layer.

Since it is a factory and the box at the end falls open and drops the ball I would say there is only 1 finished blue ball at a time in the picture.

Hello Sparky,

How many days must we wait to know the correct answer?

At least in "challenges" there is a expected date...

Or you're more cruel than I previously thought and you are waiting we do the work for you?

My poor eyes gave up!!!

Anyway...

Merry Christmas for believers and Happy Holidays for everybody
