Today's Pizzle Pic

04/03/2009 5:59 AM

Right! Masu's gone and wound me RIGHT up, so I've made this as hard as I possibly could!

NOT to scale!

(If any one gets this, they deserve as many good answers as possible!)

If no-one gets it, HAH, I'll post the answer next Thursday.....

It's a retractable knife blade ("Stanley knife" - usual disclaimer), where the blade comes out of the handle, methinks?

(A prize of some of Hendrik's GOOZ cards might be an incentive. )

Generally don't mind worms'n'stuff - the worms in tequilla may (or may not) be just for effect, but they taste good to me! Chocolate-coated ants & locusts are good too (especially when washed down with a drop of Jose Cuervo, or better).

BTW - I've just marked the 'real' pizzle pic OT - don't like seeing it every time I check out this thread. Animal dicks really turn me off.

You were so mad, you went looking for a beer. In your confusion, you looked for Australian stuff in the fridge. It maybe has a small Ice box inside, and the pic shows the area near the door and seal ?

It's a spill saftey dam, used to contain liquids around structural columns or components on isolated floors. The floors are floating on snubbers and must not be in contact with main structural members, usually for vibrational concerns.

I think you're spot on! The bit on the bottom & right is the panel and the inner corner is the body of the button / switch. The bit in the center is the actuator.

Re: Today's Pizzle Pic

First impression: ductwork passing through wall at 45° angle, opening in wall has molding around it. However, the edge of the ductwork doesn't look quite right.

I'm sure that something is passing through an opening. It's thicker than a knife blade, judging by the length of the vertical section of molding.

The light source is to the left, and there is a gap between the object and the molding.

I don't see a well defined seam at the corner of the molding, so it is not made from separate pieces or it has been heavily painted.

Best guest now: toggle switch.

I will expand on the toggle switch theory. I think it is specifically a "Decora" style light switch and plate cover.

Blimey! I don't know about the "Decora" bit, but you are spot on!

I really didn't think any one would get it that quick, if at all, so it's got to be a good answer. (Mind you, the way this thread has meandered has kept me amused for a while. )

I'll try and find something more....challenging?

If I can find something, I'll post it on Thursday as I'm away for the weekend...I've got to go and sacrifice that Wascally Wabbit to my favorite Norse goddess, Eastre.

(well, it makes as much sense to me as using an inaccurate and approximate set of tables to calculate the Paschal lunar month, and decide that the phase of the moon is full, even though; if you look out of the window, you can see that in a more literal, but fundamentally less important and…accurate…way, the moon is in fact not full, but only nearly so….

Oops, I've got to go; now I've upset half the western world. I have to rattle my drawers in praise to Anoia, goddess of things that get stuck therein.)

You mean, you hadn't noticed?

I had hoped, for the sake of humanity, that it was a deliberate scathing attack on poor misguided individuals who need cheap, tacky visual reminders of the meaning of the faith taught to a large proportion of our population. A bit like having your name printed on a lump of wood and placed on your desk to remind you where you sit.
