Ask the customer...say you havn't got that spec' or you havn't met that spec' before. can he give you the detailed information or direct you to an appropriate site.
He'll appreciate it far more than you getting his job wrong.

Don't tell me, the problem has been created by a marketing or sales guy overselling your capabilities/capacity?

There are a number of "non-standard" buttress variants used in the oilfield services industry. Many are proprietary designs. It very well could be such a thread.

You'd think, but the problem is that everybody makes knock-offs of Halliburton equipment, or make bits to interface with Halliburton Equipment. So it is entirely possible that the customer does not HAVE the Halliburton spec which is most assuredly proprietary. Now Halliburton will usually license certain machine shops to cut the thread for them or for vendors who which to utilize the thread in parts that interface with Halliburton equipment. The OP will have to find one of these shops to get the thread cut for him.

There are many different types of Buttress tread, it all depends on your customers business; it could be anything fromTransmission screws, presses,rolling mills or the Oil and Gas industry it could even be Deep Bore drilling for burying Nuclear waste.

You definately need more information, as I said your customers business should give you a clue. This site will at least show you the different thread forms.

It is all very good getting in touch with a site or sites whom you think may know the answer to you query. However, whatever you choose on the site or searching yourself, with at best be 'second guessing'?

The customer is paying for it and knows what he wants because he has specified it.

So ask him.

There has to be times in even an experienced Engineers career when, there is a spec, or 'type' which is not familiar to you. Actually asking the customer will strengthen your 'bond' and could lead to more work because of the 'apparent care' you are showing to the customer?
