Cold Storage Insulation Panel

07/02/2009 11:20 AM

We plan to build a cold storage 8 meters high. Should we use insulation panels with cam locks or panels with tongue and grooves. The cold room will have a -25 deg C temperature.

I use cam locks all the time. The thicker the insulation, the better. Caulking the joints is very important as well as sealing all conduits that enter the freezer, other wise you will have moisture drawn into the electrical systems. Have you made provisions for isolating the floor?

Thanks Icarus, we install insulation and vapor barriers at the floor made of polyethylene sheet and install ventilator pipes.
