It is permited in not more than 4 segments of rolled plate. (Please correct if I am not right). (At this movement I can not spare time to find the reference and quote it... This is what I remember)
And I'd like to add that when we say ASMEB16.5/ASME B16.47, we mean standard flanges where the flange is formed from only one piece and manufactured by forging (without any weldment). In addition to that, the code accepts to fabricate a non-standard flanges but must be accompanying with a full design calculations (10 pages at least) to meet all the code requirements.
