Pressure Drop Across A Valve

How can i calculate the pressure drop across a valve, say a 6" globe valve?

Find out the Cv of the valve

The Cv = Q/ √(ΔP/ρ)

Q= Flow,

ΔP = Pressure Drop

ρ = specific Density

(Cv should be corrected for viscosity for accurate result) this is provided that the handled material is liquid. For gases, steams etc other corrections are to be used.
