NE5554U Data Sheet

Does anyone have application data on this Adjustable Dual Tracking Voltage Regulator ?

I have googled the heck out of it and got nothing but relatives without application notes.

NE5554U

Pins 1 and 9 + & - inputs, 5 is common, 2 and 8 are outputs, 3 and 7 are no connection and 4 and 6 are balance and adjust (I don't know which is which).

I saw the the spec sheet years ago and it shows the range of resistors for setting it up with +20 & -20 Volts input and the range of divider resistors desired output and the range of divider resistors for tracking.

I have a fistful of these.

Thanks much that helps a lot.

The Signetics Mullard file is good.

The one I want has a range of resistance values. Google has not served well for that.

Noting the date code on your sample... 1978? They been around for a while. The NE prefix leads me to believe a Signetics part (maybe) but Signetics no longer exists. I don't know what happened to them.

You might try LM5554. This would be a National part number (if they also manufactured it).

Yep. pretty old.

Signetics, yes.

No LM5554 data found.

The Signetics NE5554U is unique.

I found info in an unusual place.

After a long detailed search I found the Signetics NE5554U in a High Voltage Foldback Power Supply patent used for electrostatic coating application.
The info was included in the text of US Patent 4485427 by Fred W Woodruff and Daniel C Hughey.
It gave me the pin-outs for the unique U type 9 pin SIL package.
I am now a happy camper as I am able to use these ICs for projects.
I used a couple of 10kΩ pots for the adjustments and they work great. I can get the divider values from them and put in selected fixed resistors for R1 and R2, R3 and R4.
