Natural gas transmission pipeline -Construction2-Valves

01/15/2007 5:09 AM

You apply what types of valves (ball or conical) and actuators (Pneumatic-Hydraulic or Electric) on valve stations?

Valves on gas are "Audco" Plug Valves very commonly used. Ball Valves used on all small & large pipe sizes. Butterfly Valves too used above 1.5" size since cost economical than ball valves. For Actuators Pneumatic used.

Thanks for the comment.

What standard establish it. For example, for valves 8 "-12" in by-pass and a blowing-off line of the linear crane 24 "-30"?

You need to checkup the standards f& specification followed by your Country's Gas Company. They are different from Country to Country.

We use ANSI A 13.1 Scheme Identification Pipeling System

API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection code

ASME B16.34 & B 16.5 Valves & Flanges & Piping 1/2" thru 24"

ASME B31.8 Gas Transmission & Distribution Piping Systems

ASME B31.8S Managing System Intregity Gas Pipeline

Based on this you need to check up with your gas comapany.

Sorry I cannot help you more. You need to do your own research with your standards, checkup internet search sites for Gas Valves, Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves, Pressure Reducing Valves & Stations, Gas Filters, Solenoid Valves, Slow Opening Valves, Safety Valves, Electric & Pneumatic Actuators, Pipes' specifications etc.

Checkup sites selling the Standards and downloading reading and then proceeding accordingly.

You need to send the complete scope of your work alloted to the Valves & Equipment manufacturers to engineer & select equipments for your application.

Without any such details how do you expect me to do your spade work? Don't shift your monkey on my shoulders.

Dear sir,

Probably my question causes difficulties for the answer, but it (question) very serious.

The matter is that I essentially against application at valve stations (For example, for valves 8 "-12" in by-pass and a blowing-off line of the linear valve is 24 "-30", MAOP 80 bar?), plug valves and the electric drive to them. In my situation the project is executed by other firm and it is required to confirm or deny the decision. Experience has appeared is insufficient, and standards do not answer.

Situation as a stalemate!

The size of figure and parameters of valve station of have no value, since the principle is important.

Thanks for attention.
