i am afraid i do not follow what you mean?

Please take the cursor to the BLUE weblink i have given. It will assume the shape of a hand. Click left mouse button. A webpage will open. It will tell you all about limit switch.

Let me know if you can't find anything.

Re: limit switch

I'm sorry, but this "question" is very poorly formulated.

In general terms, a limit switch consists of some electrical contacts enclosed in a housing. Some sort of mechanical linkage (lever, push rod, "wobble stick," etc.) extends outside the housing. When an object presses on this lever (or whatever), it turns the switch on or off, just like a finger on a light switch.

Limit switches are used to detect the presence or position of a moving object, and then to initiate a suitable action. For example, on an automatic door opener, a person might push a button that starts a motor to openthe door. When the door reaches the fully open position, it can contact a limit switch that turns the motor off (so that the door doesn't go too far).

How about a little more truculence, or at least some vitriol.

Okay, how about a jug of Cu2SO4?

(Ordinarily I would mark this OT, but as the topic has changed momentarily....)

Tornado has described a mechanical limit switch, as I have shown above.

There are optical, electronic, magnetic, capacitive and other types of limit switches, too.

A limit switch is generally a 3 phase powered Motor and same function of transformer. Some times it functioning like Flouresent lamps and popcorn fryer.

Re: limit switch

The only thing that is correct about this answer, is that the sentence structure is grammatically correct. It does not make sense though. Any switch is not a 3 phase motor. Neither a motor or a switch function like a transformer, fluorescent lamp or popcorn fryer.

Now all of these electrical loads; motor, fluorescent lamp, popcorn fryer, and the transitional load of a transformer may have a switch to turn ON/OFF the load. On all of these devices there may also be a thermal limit switch that will turn OFF that device when it gets to hot to prevent a fire.

Now why this guest's nonsensical reply is the only one with a GA vote eludes me.

Simple. Limit switch is for limiting something like the movement of an elevator or the pressure build-up of a compressed-air tank. Working is for getting something done, occasionally to earn money.
