Homage to Del

09/20/2010 3:09 PM

I stumbled upon a very good explanation of how the internet works, while looking for the Retroencabulator video. I believe that Del will be able to add support to the internet explanation.

Looking for the Retroencabulator video was stimulated by having another look at the EBM video, which has been around for about a decade, and which would seem in the same vane to anyone with a basic (even intuitive) understanding of thermodynamics. Some people have apparently taken the EBM video as being serious, however.

"Energie Gratuite"... nice touch... seems more highfalutin than "free energy".

Del the Cat must be cat napping, I haven't seen him on all day. I found a few more videos of the retro-encabulator and it's pre-retro model the turboencabulator. There's a whole website for this "instrument" also.

Thanks, especially, for the GE specs (Turbo encabulator in Industry). Brought back memories of my early encabulation work. With our GE units we always had a hard time reducing the sinusoidal depleneration to within acceptable limits, although we religiously used a well-maintained gyro-controlled sine wave director during calibration. As a result, our repeatability was up around .75%, rather than the advertised 1/4%. More than anything else, I think this is what drove us to purchase the retro unit.

I bet the 'special geometry' of the EBM machine uses marzel vanes.

You hinted at this (didn't you?) when you said:

"...which would seem in the same vane to anyone with a basic (even intuitive) understanding of thermodynamics."

Remarkably observant of you! I'd slipped that in as a hint to the cognoscenti.

<...marzel vanes....>

Oh, folly, folly. The strangulobe of the marzel vanes must make a slippy-how and force-it onto the congeminating sproggles with a slidey-huf of that. Percentage modulakers on the carrier throom and wobbulabe in the shakey lebbers though it might work out OK. Deep joy if it does. Oh yes.

Two spurving bearings are mounted in a direct line with the pentametric fan thus no marzel vanes are required. The main winding is of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-boloid slots in the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a nonreversible trem'e pipe to the differential girdlespring on the 'up' end of the grammeters. But I don't know how the dingle arm is attached...

But I don't know how the dingle arm is attached...

You can certainly be forgiven. Even skilled technicians would forget the arrangement between one maintenance session and the next. We used the nemonic "dingle Pringle" to help us remember that the dingle attachment was as fragile as a potato chip, consisting only of a laticulating frunstrum in a light press fit (too light in my view) into the spanwise slarce in the Reinhart bracket.

This is yet another area in which we were thankfull for the subsequentnessly promulgated, in a latter time frame element (in a temporal sense), improvement in the Rockwell unit, as compared to (via contrast with, and in a previousness sense) the GE instantiation. The nemonic for the GE mounting arrangement is the one you no doubt remember: "nail bail" suggesting the tough-as-nails quality of the bailing wire used to mount the GE dingle arm.

Wilst generally fairly accurate, I did notice a couple of minor errors in the internet explanation video. I don't think Japan was the birthplace of the internet. I think it was the UK, but doubtless the US will claim it as usual.
I've been off line for a day or so, PC blew it's power supply, new one from Maplin only £22 can't be bad.
Del

BTW. KrisDelTM do a good range of decravinating washers to go under the head of the toggle spline thrunge pin to prevent chaffing

I don't think Japan was the birthplace of the internet. I think it was the UK, but doubtless the US will claim it as usual.

I am happy to be able to clear this up. History has recorded that Al Gore (A US guy) invented the internet. However, when he invented it, he was experiencing drug-induced hallucinations, while in a sleazy London hotel interviewing a local Asian sex worker re her feelings about global warming. Because the worker appeared to be Japanese, he thought he was in Japan.

Love it! I'll be looking for an opportunity to package derivative futures of spot market franchises based on marginal lamination heat contracts.
