Don't know what you mean by Indirect Pulley. Have you removed the bushing from the pulley? What brand/type is pulley and bushing? Is the end of the shaft damaged? Have you measured the shaft with a micrometer?

Gently tap a small screwdriver into the split on the taperlock. Gently slide over shaft and install bolts to proper torque. Do not overdo the tapping of the screwdriver or you will split the taperlock.

Taper lock is a trde mark of Reliance / Dodge gears.

If it is severerly undersized you may need to machine the ID.

How about showing us a diagram or drawing, fully and clearly labelled and dimensioned, of what exactly the set-up is that you want to attain?...

You said you have a 57mm ID pulley going onto a 57mm OD shaft. This does NOT present a problem.

Did you mean something else?

You would think these things would come with instructions.

The taper-lock pulleys install one piece at a time, usually the part on the shaft first. The shaft must be smooth and free of damage or rust, a little oil helps.

The pulley part has threaded tightening holes, and the hub has threaded holes for releasing the pulley. Assemble the pulley so that you can remove the bolts and install them into the release threaded holes. The bolts can then push the two parts apart, releasing the taper lock.
