Diesel Engine

dear Engineers

during our maintenance of Diesel Engine. we found radiator water in inside the engine . while open the engine oil gauge water coming out . this my first experience. dear engineers kindly explain what are the reason water will go to inside the engine????

I would suspect closer inspection and testing will reveal fuel is in there as well.

The compromise of the head gasket will result in this symptom. A repair must be done before operation of the engine can resume.

The main head gasket is no longer providing a seal.

  • Replace it before there is damage to the mating surfaces between the head and the cylinder block.
  • If there is damage to the mating surfaces, they may be skimmed to effect a seal, though a thicker head gasket will be needed to maintain compression ratio.
  • If the damage cannot be skimmed-out, then it's a new engine.

Call in a diesel repair tech. and have him diagnose and repair the problem.

It's likely a head gasket, cracked head or cracked block.

We can't fix it for you.

possibilities are;

  • cylinder head gasket failure
  • liner crack
  • liner oring failure
  • oil cooler failure ( shell&tube or plate type exchanger )
