Limits on Human Effort

07/25/2012 8:25 AM

Despite eons of natural development and selection, there are still limits to what the human frame can achieve without 'conking out' in some way. Here's one of them:

It's the beard and baseball cap that do the damage... the baseball cap that broke the camels back.
The camels back? Why where did it go...?

Some people have even departed CR4 . No goodbye, no 'laters', just gone. Change of manners that Admin have pointed out on several places that puts people off ?, change of personal situation ? Possibly even a change in how CR4 s run. If they don't say, we'll never know.

I still log in frequently to read up on stuff, though amless inclined to post now.

Oops, off topic .

The point of the post escapes me. Possibly prompted by the Olympics ? It's a commercially inspired ******contest. Athletics at school level would be money better spent. If we must have such a thing, hold it in some under-developed nation and everybody else chucks money in the pot to pay for it.

Off-topic and sulking.

Cynical, of Tontine Street. Somewhat apt comparison, neah ?

Yep it is not the same after the bath was broken. Some bad feelings, departures, and they are missed.

As for the bloke in the video, I think he staged it to get the attentions of the lady.

Not that there aren't limits to human effort. I thought he avoided a direct cosh to the head rather neatly.

I think the bathers have all gotten over it - the whole think was just goofing about. Resentment (and I base this on external communications) is that some heavy handed admin work was done.

For my part, I couldn't care less. Fun while it lasted and no more. That said, I do feel some were badly treated, and it was in no small part down to corporate changes in Troy. People may or may not wish to note that a few questions I posted to iHS remain unreplied. There have been many changes to CR$ rules recently (which is fair enough), but it could leave a cynical person wondering about the motive when a new company has taken over.

This is all outside CR4 guidlines, and I will report it to admin for deletion. No intent to rock the boat, buit if a given contact does not reply that leaves little choice.

If this post gets deleted, it's because I asked admin to do so in the cause of harmony. Request will be made right now. Discussion of such stuff helps nobody other than the few who see it - hopefully admin staffers.

It's all a bit anal. Most of the bathers are in touch anyway. What I picked up in the BBT was that GA's are smoke and mirrors for children's parties.

Great comment Kris.

Few people are capable of over 12 thousand posts. At even 1 minute a post that is...ummmmmmmm.......200 hours!

I caught Lyme...twice...lately from tick bites. First time I went to a clinic and it took a year to get over it. Read a lot in the meantime.

2nd time cured myself in 3 weeks...finally got to use that biology degree!

Now I'm back to giving away useless info I've accumulated over the last 64 years to whoever will listen...

It's a Brit plot to retake the world (Del has 2k more than me ) .

That's a neat idea for discussion - 'can any info be useless ?'. I'd contend not; When the Brit government has to release information it doesn't want to, it buries it in so much fluff that it can't be found. This makes all the fluff useful. In addition, I can haved a park bench all to myself if I want - few can withstand what happens if I desire a quiet place to contemplate and feed the ducks .

What really sucks about this is having to watch a 30 second advert in order to get to watch a 28 second video.

I don't think this was intentional. I think he really did pass out.

Homo Sapiens is evolving i must say, having seen 6 people do <10 sec in the 100m in the Olympics. Unheard of a few years ago.

There are more people alive right now than have ever lived and died. Matter of numbers since we have only been timing people for a century of so.

To say that Roman messenger runners weren't as fast as guys now would probably not be giving those old Italians the benefit of the doubt.
