Damn it! I was taking apart a car, and a piece of the linkage flew off. How the heck do I get it back?

Ask NASA. They might be able to send the package back.

3 or 4 years later....

The object might be a piece of rover hardware.

Looks like Rover build quality issues strike again. Perhaps they should have got the Japanese to supply them with a Mars Toyota!

It's a pull tab from a beer can left to drop from the scoop.

So thus far:

Earing from a stage hand or from some Martin Hussy the rover is having a dirty weekend with.

OR

Some Aluminium foil from the rover's packed lunch.

OR

A tiny roll your own "cigarette" - Martians are little

OR

A tiny Vuvuzela - Martians are little and they have tiny soccer world cups???

I'm surprised they don't have a parts list in front of em... must have shipped the owner's manual with the robot, I guess.

I was going to guess aluminum pop can nugget (they wash up on the beach here all the time) but after zooming in, it was obvious this is a brand new factory fresh doodad with no sign of dents or scratches. Oh, the excitement of a curious robot, finding loose nuts and bolts on mars!
