Font Size Too Small

10/13/2012 6:51 AM

Recently I bought Dell Laptop "Insprin". I find that when ever I go to blog the font size is too small and I am not able to increse the same. Please let me know how I can do the same.

Hey, Mrs K has a Dell Asprin or something similar.

You could try the little icons at the top of most word processors. CR4 has some sort of custom settings in the edit message box (though I've never figured out how to use it).

Sometimes, whoever hosts the blog might resize you anyway. By holding Ctrl and moving the mouse scroll wheel I can zoom right in (or out). Here's a pic, but CR4's editor might resize it ;

You could also type up stuff, save it as an enlarged image and then post. That's quite handy if you don't want people to get lazy and clip/paste your typed words for a google search.

I've totally messed the format of this post, but you can drag the corners of images as well.

CR4 has a spellchecker, but I don't use it either. Last time (a few years back) it kept stalling, and I really don't care so long as people get the massage.

I'm being silly, but there might be something useful in all that.

Here are 2 possible things to try.

This first one works for Win XP; don't know if it works for Vista.

Right-click on the desktop. You'll get a pop-up window with a menu of options, the bottom option being 'properties'. Click on 'properties'.

That will open a new pop-up window with the menu tabs 'themes', 'desktop', 'screensaver', 'appearance' and 'settings'.

If you click on 'appearance' you'll get a new window that has more options including an option for font size, 'normal', 'large' and 'extra large'. This will allow you to select a larger font size.

-------------------------

The second thing to try works for Firefox.

Click on the 'Tools' tab at the top of the page, then click 'Options'. This will give you an option for setting the default font type and font size when you open a window with the Firefox browser.

That certainly works, usb, but I think the question is about how it appears when posted to a forum or blog.

A major problem for web designers is how stuff will show on different browsers.

The GA needed here is for somebody who can demonstrate and explain how to post with a font that is, say, twice the size of this one that you see now. I've seen it done, but never checked if it is an image file of text.

Even if possible, admin may prefer to keep a consistent font size and style across the forum. My eyesight is rubbish, but if I want to I can zoom in by using the method described earlier (thank you to masu for that - I simply never realized).

Even if people don't post in large font, anybody can zoom in in order to read more clearly. The only downside is needing to use the resulting scroll-bars to read a post, but that's a small thing.

Perhaps this is all some indication of CR4's aging readership ! The OP didn't specify if it was just a problem on CR4. If running a blog by themself it should be perfectly possible, but that depends upon exactly how that blog is run/structured (off-the-shelf, own designed web page etc).

In internet explorer, you can go to "page" on the upper right of screen, go to zoom, and then custom. From there you can set the zoom level default for page viewing while on the internet. Most browsers have a similar function.

Thanks for the post. I never knew it existed until I started looking. Now I can read the words without my reading glasses.

If you don't want to be zoomed in as a default, you can just set the zoom for each session.

In Chrome, zoom can be found by going to the three parallell lines in upper right corner.

Solar Eagles method works well with Vista, not sure about the other operating systems.

My eyes are also going south, and to read many articles on the web, the small fonts strain my eyes. I have to hold control the the + key to enlarge enough to make it comfortable on my eyes to read.

FYI hitting CTRL and 0 at the same time brings you back to the default font size.

Very good! I had suggested that as a remedy for some of the other suggestions in this thread. I have had trouble with my browser when I tried to increase the font size on a web page with small print. After doing so, other pages looked very large. It took some searching to find that solution. Glad that it helped you!
