Surface Linear Indication

Hi friends,

If i found linear indication on beam or channel. that linear indication dept up to 1.0mm.

can i accept this material for fabrication.

seems like a planar defect.Crack is no longer accepted, except star crack 5/32 Inch by American Petroleum Institute 1104 Welding of Pipelines and Related facilities. However, acceptance is based on your Design code/Material Standard/Welding code.If you are going to use that beam to make a hand rail or to utilise it as a non loading member of any structure,then the crack has no significance.
