IIRC, hydrofluoric acid eats PTFE.

It eats practically everything else as well!

I see you've made a duplicate thread on this.

Is the PTFE causing some sort of heat transfer problem? You indicated sterile usage. Is the heat exchanger a straight through bore? If so, how long is this?

We really need more information on what this jacketed heat exchanger is. Are you trying to remove the PTFE from the annulus part of the heat exchanger, or the inside center portion? If your trying to remove it from the center bore, and it's straight through, and less then ~2m, you can do this with a reamer and an extension rod. If serpentine, either burning it out, or chemical acid are your two options.

Explain just what and why you are wanting to remove the PTFE, and what the mechanical properties, and usage of the heat exchanger is for, could give better answers.

0.4mm thk of coating

There is no heat transfer problem.

Bye the correct type of pipe for the application.

Obviously you are trying to use something that is not approved for the application.

You must have known this already.

If the FDA is involved in the inspection then ask them what the specs are. Should have been done before hand. Someone surely told you the pipe needs to be teflon lined just didn't give you the white specs. Now you want to remove the lining. It may also fail the inspection.
