How to Calculate the Theoretical Data Transfer Rate for a SCADA System

06/05/2014 9:14 AM

Hi I'm looking to calculate the theoretical data transfer rate over a communication network in relation to dual redundant Wincc SCADA Servers system with 5 remote SCADA sites all who have access for monitoring and control at authorized log in rights. The communication is over dual redundant fiber Optic links with 1660 and 1551 modules units nominally gigabit . Siemens S7-400 PLC's, ET200m RIO units, X204 switches are used both local and at remote locations.

Thanks

On a plant, Mildred, if it happens in less than a second, it isn't real.

Ask the SCADA equipment manufacturer. They should know.

I'm not aware of a way to "calculate" this number.

Measure it? Perhaps.
