Dear All;

I am not able to calculate & decision to pump size and pressure vessels size for domestic water in Hotel upper story.

How will I calculate and choice to pump and pressure vessels size for 10500 Litre/day? I don't know the fact of depending on if calculate on this case. We need pressure output is about 3.5bar.

Please Help me.

I think you need to supply more information.

For one thing 10500 Liter/day. the usage is usually surges where the majority of water use is in the mornings with guests using it for showers, How many guests?

As Phoenix just stated, we need more info. Is there a supply water well and what yield does the well provide? Is storage based on a trucked water supply? Rain water? You will need to know peak demands and expect several peaks throughout the day. Peak demands can be guesstimated by number of rooms, number of faucets and toilets, and some history is always helpful. Is the water for a single floor? And where is the storage system located in respect to elevation from the upper story?

Send your requirements to a pump company, or a supplier of turn key water systems.

Either one will help you and ask the proper questions which you fail to answer here, mostly because you don't know what they are.

Do not try to do this "on-the-cheap" (yourself) as your guests will never be happy with the result.

Pay a few dollars more and do it right.

Your not going to get much help here. As the question as asked is lacking all the necessary information to even begin to make any computations. Most of us are not into pulling teeth to get it either.

So I will say hire someone to do the work for you. Let them pull the teeth it's what you pay them for.

Request several quotations, the suppliers will most likely want to visit the place to see your application, the rest will be a lot easier for you.

As others have stated, this is a specialist area that you need to pay someone for, but in addition, the pipe sizing inside the building (delivering to the rooms) may also limit the amount of water to be supplied at those peak times with associated pressure loss.

The whole system needs to be balanced and not just the pump/tank capacity.

Have you given up on your " 2m x 2m x 2m = 8m³ volume" tank?

Did you ever arrive at an answer for the flow through the hole in the bottom?

I think all agree that you need on-site help with this project, if it is not homework.

Good Luck.

Shape of pressure vessel is required. I mean whether its rectangle , cuboid or cylindrical.

this will enable determination of size.

Knowledge of the HEIGHT OF THE STOREY BUILDING is also important to select pump size based on the flow rate 'Q' and head 'H' in meters.

the pump selection should be such that its flow rate must be higher than 10.5m3/day at a head greater than the height of the storey building so that the pump can rest at certain interval of time when controlled by a float switch.

Dear friend lets know those parameters.

Regards;

What would happen if the answer from here you chose was very wrong? Could you over expend money? Valuable money? Cause a big flood when guests are there? LOSE YOU JOB?

For these very simple questions you need to hire the smartest person you can get ahold of to do this. If you have to ask this question you are not that guy. Spend some good money and get a good solution from someone who specializes in this type of project design.

For example, I go to a dentist for dental work to be done. I'm not good enough at it, besides my tools are too big!

Good Luck, Old Salt

Re: Pump and Pressure Vessel Size for 10500L/day

-The system of my building have .basement, Ground, mezzanine, 1st to 8th & Roof. (Total 12 floor) Basement height is 10ft and other are 9ft each. (Small Hotel)

-Total water requirement is 27000L/day

-5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & roof are using by Pump feed from roof tank (10500L/day)

-other under floor of building using by Gravity feed from roof tank. (16500L/day)

-So I thought roof tank size is 27m3.

-I thought basement tank was 9m³ for transfer, complete with transfer pump (3Hp).

-Domestic water tank is built at 8th storey for the whole building. I will put out 2 line from tank, 1 for Gravity feed & 1 for Pump feed.

Now, I can't think for pump size and Pressure vessel size for (pump feed system) of upper storey.

Usually, we use pressure is 3.5bar.

If need other effect, please fill and calculate for me.

Many thank.

There is no need to share these data here as though they were some sort of afterthought to the original thread. Take them instead to specialist pump systems suppliers and discuss it with them, preferably over the telephone, as has already been suggested. On receipt of quotations, select the best, raise a purchase order, and have them do the equipment selection and installation.

Can you draw graphs indicating consumption(l/m) vs hour of the day(24hrs) for each floor and submit to a pump supplier, indicating separately the capacity of sump and quantity required in overhead tank for fire protection.
