"Sub-miniature".

Del is on the way to the Naughty Step for using an undefined abbreviation. ;-)

<cough> Surface mount

I think if you read through my post you will see the words surface mount earlier on... ok I don't define the abreviation, but it hardly requires the deductive powers of Sherlock Holmes to correlate the two. But Ok I'll have a wee sit on't naughty step, I need a rest.

Well, it could be either or both. Come back, Del. All is forgiven.

I think he proposed to compare surface mounted component soldering integrity versus though-hole integrity. Factors like failure rate in production processes, physical and electrical reliability, and electrical interactions.

Re: Soldering

I suspect you were an undergrad once, a VERY long time ago...

Where did you learn to solder?

I suppose you actually did learn it on your grandfathers knee. I know I had to learn it a alone in a cold basement. I certainly couldn't have written a scholarly dissertation on it.

Why the un-helpful remark? I know you are a GURU and all; but, the wise crack does not, I think, improve anyone's opinion of the poster.

Thanks,

Pete

Pete,

I suspect that you copied all your "scholarly dissertations" from a homework cheat site.

You seem to be, unfortunately, of the opinion that you can write a paper on something about which you are ignorant.

"can i know what i do title about "soldering"

I think "learn how to solder" was a more productive response than your BS remark to me!
