Demag Crane 16t Problem

I have a problem with demag crane who stop working during the job. After few minutes started working with control pendant and on the display we have number 17. Everything works except the hook doesn`t lift`s up. Did anyone could help me?

Yes. Find the trouble shooting guide that came in the operator's manual and follow the instructions you find there.

If you don't have a manual, go to Demag's website and download it.

And if that doesn't work, phone Demag, and either sort it out over the phone or get someone in! Its far quicker than waiting for someone on CR4 to come up with an answer you like.

But it's not personal information, it's a corporate number.

I understand not giving out private information, like phone numbers or hat sizes, on a public thread, but corporate contact info *IS* public information.

We can give out corporate website URL's freely, a phone number is just a 'pre-internet' version of the URL.

An error code 17 on a Demag typically indicates a brake problem. It normally tells you that the brake is locked and generally requires a new circuit board to correct the problem.

Occasionally an operator mistake is made in reading the first digit of the code - the 1 in your case - as it may actually be what Demag call a lightning symbol, sort of a capital letter H without the upper right and lower left verticals. If this is what yours really shows then check that you haven't lost a phase.

Spurious warnings and error codes can sometimes be reset by operating the emergency stop if there is not a continuing problem.
