India Launches Rockets to Study Eclipse

Posted January 15, 2010 9:40 AM

From CNN.com - Technology:

India is launching a series of rockets to study the impact of Friday's solar eclipse, a rare occurrence that will briefly reduce the sun to a blazing ring. The Indian Space Research Organization has already sent up three rockets, and at least five others are scheduled for launch during the eclipse, its spokesman, S. Satish, told CNN.

"Where they TATA or MAHINDRA rockets? If so I wonder if they'll make it past the 1000feet high mark..."

PLEASE learn to use the English language properly first before trying to be sarcastic!! Your query ought to read WERE not where.

ISRO (Indian SpaceResearch Organisation) has proven its capabilities several times over. Have you not seen them send a space craft to orbit the moon and get back totally with homegrown technology?? It's high time the world stopped underestimating India and its peaceful development.

Incidentally, TATA and MAHINDRA are Blue chip organisations with sterling reputation not warranting your remarks.

Gently friend. 'Tis just misplaced humor.

I would that all nations, and all people, reach for the stars before their weapons.

Please learn the difference between sarcasm and humour (not humor) properly placed or misplaced.

A nation that is predominently agricultural (dependent on the vagaries of the monsoon)and rundown to utter poverty by malignant colonisers has shown its prowess in space technology with shoestring budgets, to the extent of discovering water on the moon ; instead of a word of appreciation, negative comments come forth in the garb of "humor".

I challenge any nation in the world that can equal India's record of achievements in a democratic set up and that too from a below "Zero" base in less than 6 decades.

Dear Sir,

Sorry, for not using the dictionary for my previous reply. I forgot that this is a grammar and spell checked site. I am also not finished with my even sarcasm classes (by the way, I think I am going to fail it again this year).

On, "Incidentally, TATA and MAHINDRA are Blue chip organisations with sterling reputation not warranting your remarks". Well, regrettably friends and family members of mine owns "TATA and MAHINDRA" vehicles, could you please convince them on how good these vehicles are and that they should just accept all that is broken because it belongs to "Blue chip organizations".

PS, when you visit sites like www.tataproblems.co.za just ignore them, they are all just lying, written by the "colonizers" who still wants to rule your country! I stay in a country where people still blame the previous goverment for the problems we have today, even thou, their mistakes let more children go to bed without food...

Oh My!! You are quite a disgruntled customer in SA and yet you have run 66,000 miles on a TATA vehicle!!

A lot depends on the way any product is used. Show me one product of SA that is "Fool-Proof" and/or "Idiot-proof". By the way, everything is a copy (from the "developed world"), as you say, mistakes and all!! Also, a lot depends on the personal attitude and approach while dealing with the staff of the repair/service center-they have special treatments for special customers.

I do aggree with you there is always room for improvement. We wish we could have the precision of the Germans and their fetish for quality unlike the other Europeans and a lot of the American Automoble giants.

Regarding children going to bed on empty stomachs-what have you done for Somalia, a beautiful neighbor on your continent??

Have you not heard of the great Bengal famine caused by the British??

An ongoing Refugee situation caused by Sri Lanka is being admirably tackled by us. We believe in taking care of our "Guests" before we feed our own children!!

With no dictionary in hand, I feel it is safe to say that we can freely agree to disagree on certain things. BUT I think one and all should agree to some degree on the following:

* I do think that we should all be proud of the countries we were (or is it where...?) born in or stay in.

* There will be bad jokes about our countries, that we can do nothing about, no matter where we stay.

* Most products are only as good as the sales and after sales people makes it.

* There is no country to my better knowledge that have not copied something from somebody else.

* On fool proof products; Einstein said "the difference between a fool and a genius is, a genius has limits"

Hi D.RAMAKRISHNA NAIDU,

Here is more spelling mistakes from rakesh_semwal,

please comment ons his spelling 2:

Cheapest car, Yes and I just bet the quality matches the price...

Putting more money in a product does not means always a good product and BTW this is not a betting site.buy the product under discussion and come with a comparative data if you are so interested in putting a company down.

Jaguar & Rover, Yes, but anyone can buy a Brand name and destroy it forever by reducing the quality...and therefore the reputation.

Do you have any bad news about the brand under discussion since the take over, if yes please share with us.

And rockets...well they have plenty of places to copy the technology from...

How Do you know they copied it form those plenty of places?

Even if it were to be a TATA/MAHINDRA rockets I'm sure they would cross 1000ft mark.TATA's have in their stable the world's cheapest car as well as one of the most expensive & respected brands in the world i.e jaguar/land rover. ISRO may not have a budget close to that of NASA's/Chinese Space Agency but the intellect present there must be respected and acknowledged. If only the pay was a tad bit better we would have even better scientists at work in sriperumbadur/sriharikota.
