Artificial Intelligence at Work

Posted September 29, 2011 7:32 AM

Recent news articles described an artificial intelligence company's software as both cool and a "pretty frightening" step toward machine labor replacing human labor. The software takes data and writes news articles based on it. And convincingly enough to have been at work writing short recaps of big ten sporting events for 18 months and for the startup A.I. company to predict that a robot journalist would snag a Pulitzer by 2016. What's your view? Will robot writers replace flesh-and-blood journalists? Are we near, and ready, for A.I. to compete with humans?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Motion Control Components, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Motion Control Components today.
