Should We Give Up on the Panda?

Should we give up on the giant panda? A survey of about 600 scientists published this week found that a majority think it's time to consider conservation triage - focusing resources on animals that can realistically be saved, and giving up on the rest.

Once abandoning the Panda has taken place there's no turning back.

Future generations would curse the present ones. And that's the problem.

Can we trade in the pandas for return of some dinosaurs?

A few T Rex's and raptors running amok during rush hour traffic every day would quickly reduce the number of stupid people there are and greatly increase the rate at which people travel to and from work!

Not to mention how well they would reduce late night teenage loitering and vandalism issues in the cities!

Similar concerns.

The fragile African economy is unable to match the current value of powered Rhino Horn (about twice that of gold) with the result that the less attractive Rhino seems to be doomed.

What could be done? - Will lobotomies on the petite Willie people be the answer?

Could polar bears live in the Antarctic? If they could would they wreak too much havoc on the existing ecology?

I don't think half of the human population can be "realistically saved" (from themselves) but I don't suggest we give up on them!

Save the pandas!!
