Clearly, this is an accident waiting to happen!

Notice that the power cord is already tight and forward movement will cause the saw to catch and kick back.

This is a prefect application for battery powered saws and virtual free hand cutting. No pesky saw horses, gloves or safety glasses are required on this job. They're all virtual.

Fingers, toes, legs and testicles optional.

important notes when making fresh finger food for site meetings

1: do not remove thumb or middle finger as these are commonly used for signalling.

2: common sense dictates: use someone else's hand to hold.

3: double up & give unskilled labour free hands-on (finger-off) training.

4: always clean & sanitize blade between helpers & next meeting.

fingers may be lightly garnished with sawdust before presentation.

No matter how hard he tries to get his thumb in there, he can't quite cut off the thumbnail. Next Christmas he's getting a belt sander.

Wow, just figured the real reason for the photo.

The blade guard has been locked in the full open position. Notice that thing at 2 o'clock wedged into it to keep it open?

Of course. Every pro does this!

Look at the other picture where the guy is sawing a board on the back of another. I know it was a joke picture, but the guard is also up on that saw.

When I started helping my friend start his construction business I brought some of my own tools and the first thing he started doing was removing the safety guards on my saws.

Soon saw that every other contractor did the same. However, if I remember correctly, I don't recall too many hand saws with the lower guard missing. Mostly the table saws and chop boxes.

The cheaper low end tablesaws such as craftsman or delta do have terrible saw guards
