It's to dampen the resonant vibration that's waking the rooster every night at 2am....I got the idea off a well known website for creative engineers....

The rail boss said he wanted the new ties put under the track as quick as possible.

We figured this would be the quickest way to do it.

A four wheel rail car gives a loading of 110 tons and there is a max of two cars on the bridge at once

Each tie can be loaded up to 1900 lbs

There are 448 ties in the stack

1900 / 2240 x 448 = 380 tons

No problem guys it's gonna hold the weight.

A sign of the times, we can adopt this strategy to our own failing infrastructure here in the States.

Now we need to adapt this for rivers and lakes and the problem is solved!

An experiment in reverse engineering... now that the stone supports are nearly finished, the wood trestle support can soon be removed.

Don't worry. We did a scale model test with the Lionel and some lin Lincoln Logs and it worked perfectly the first time.
