High-speed Drone Weaves Around Obstacles

The U.S. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) has developed a high-speed (45 mph, 20 m/sec) drone that is learning how to avoid obstacles. The Fast Lightweight Autonomy program is developing sensor-based avoidance to reduce communications and operator workload as well as designing algorithms to reduce power consumption. Such capability would facilitate control of a formation of UAVs and manned aircraft in an integrated system.

They must have modeled this on the drivers on the Washington D.C. beltway at rush hour.

It didn't look very "high-speed" when it was weaving around the obstacles. Not really impressive at all given modern AI technology.
