I think you are saying that this looks like the stairs at the nightclub in Oakland where many people died in the fire. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture.

I can't look at that without my inner Safety Engineer screaming that that amount of well-ventilated wood will produce a fire that will overwhelm⁽¹⁾ the normal sprinkler systems installed in commercial/industrial structures.

This artist had a circle of steam iron with their cords stretched out. One of the plugs was missing. I said "I can fix that for you."

We used to get pallets from the fruit company for free and they would deliver. Other wise they had to pay to dispose of them. Of ten they were made of exotic tropical woods. We would make shelving with them, fences or just use them for firewood, except when we cut them up it was easier to burn them with the nails in and shovel it out later. The homeless build shelters with them too.

back in WWII, some of the G.I. crates that were made used Birds Eye Maple.
