Kind of looks like a jail with the long skinny windows. This one looks to be a bit more difficult then the last couple.

Why does a chicken coop have two doors?

Well, if a chicken coop had four doors it would then be a chicken sedan.

I am taking a wild guess here, but it is a cosmetically concealed cooling tower on a University campus, most likely in Florida, near where Solar Eagle calls home.

Other than that, I am clueless, as I often am these days.

Can't be Florida. There is a hill behind it. The highest point in Florida is a radio tower and it's top is at 500' elevation.

Yes those are pipes, but they could be gas pipes, water pipes, cooling water pipes, or who knows what. I suspect they are not:

  1. pneumatic tubes for the conveyance of notes from Langley to the Pentagon
  2. milk receiving pipes for the Kraft mac and cheese factory
  3. pipes for ?? going to Tesla's new battery factory
  4. water pipe to a prison, they do not get that much water
  5. conduits for electric power in/out of one of Tesla's giant energy storage units
  6. anything to do with producing a television show
  7. a church
  8. a movie studio
  9. food production facilities for McDonald's
  10. someone's upscale home in Beverly Hills

Such an active imagination! I think that, as we believe in the Creator, we become more creative!

However, this thread is tending toward entropic collapse. We will not recover until MaggieMc reveals the answer. Hrrumph.

Foot obvious. Obvious to you is like impossible raised to the 4th power to me.

I typed search after search, and gave up when it started coming back as something built with LEGO blocks.

It is surely not one of these!

It is not the new FOXCONN building for Wisconsin, either.

It is the world's largest industrial LEGO building.

Two words? How about 'Energy Sucker'.

I'll bet it takes a lot of henway to heat that pile of rocks. Gotta keep them chickens warm!

Or maybe three words: 'Needs more DOORS!'

Use ?

The picture is kind of grainy. It looks like some type of cooling structure, like a horizontal cooling tower, I see what appears to be inlet / outlet pipes along base and the rectangular boxes look like troughs, the horizontal lines look like fins on a radiator, the stairs near the pipes look like access to a catwalk for access to those pipes or doors near the base. I can't say if the hill in the background gives a clue to it's location, although I remember seeing a geothermal plant in Nevada that had buildings that looked similar and had hills surrounding the site. Unable to determine the height or distance from the site or if the site is in a valley.

It's a fairly large building as the scale can be determined from the size of the doors in the building....Don't the pipes suggest that some activity is taking place in the building? How would you characterise that sort of activity? That would make the building category what? Residential? ...no probably not....Commercial, as in retail? ....maybe, but more probably something else....

That is the door? OK, this is a huge building, and it houses the world's largest airship, maybe. The pipes are for conveying helium in/out.

OR this is a Borg cube, and we are doomed, and in either case, RUN!!!

Stop trying to guess what takes place in the building beyond the general category classification of the building....you've already identified the architectural style of the building, all you need is the second....

Your not getting upset, are you ? Its not like you gave a whole boat load of clues.

Clues: its a building. Its got windows. There are pipes going into it. Its got a door. Its got stairs. Its near a mountain.

Wow, with all them clues, its a Wonder nobody's ( guessed) ( no guessing) figured it out yet.

Yes, but my search for "seven-story out-house with large fan ducts" just didn't find it.

This one is a complete bust, as far as I am concerned. It is big alright, but it looks like those industrial buildings in clusters one just drives past on the interstate without even looking at them. Zero appeal. Not even a banana peel.

I see SE in my mind's eye, just chuckling to himself on this one. Good job!

I even put in "large fan ducts" on that seven-story out-house.

I starting to "hate" this building, and I had a dream about it last night.

I don't even know what the building is, and I want to attack it with a tiny hammer and chisel. Or march around it seven times and shout with a voice of triumph.

It has to be in France. Otherwise it would never exist. I am sure the Flench think the same thing about my one-story out house. I refused to rent them the basement.

"It's a fairly large building as the scale can be determined from the size of the doors in the building..."

Maybe it's a regular sized building, and the doors are small for the wee people.

It is the new Hitler bunker somewhere in Argentina near the lake on the Chilean border.

He needs a lot of fresh air these days, so they pipe it to him.

So ends this thread.

I was going to say "prototype section of USA/Mexico wall" but that would have been politically incorrect and would have sparked a whole other debate.

Was looking at Rossi style architecture, mostly located in Europe, so I was hunting the incorrect continent.

Darn it! I did not mean to be so politically insensitive. At least I did not get "shadow squelched".

Re: Guess the Architecture for 1/16/2018

Last week’s building, submitted by SolarEagle, turned out to be quite a tough one. frankd20 was correct in identifying the structure as the Farmacias Ahumada Distribution Centre, which was designed by Guillermo Hevia Architects (GH+A).

The architect’s description of the structure focuses on the goal of responsible architecture, in terms of sustainability and user experience. The exterior skin of the building was “designed to achieve saving and rational use of the energetic and technical resources” In addition to the container providing a degree of environmental protection, the building is cooled via air flushed through subterranean pipes, “where it is conditioned in a natural way” before being introduced into the main spaces of the building.

The horizontal windows on the façade, which produced much frustration among our users last week, are intended to “give movement to the façade” with the building appearing as “a closed metallic body with drawings of slight horizontal windows” during the day, “which at night become lines of light, floating in the darkness.” In addition, the windows aim to improve “labor quality” by eliminating the “perception of confinement” within the center.

Yes, it is a pretty out building. I did not mean to be political, so I won't mention Hitler's final resting place(s) again.

Yes, it may look like a pharmacutical production and distribution center on the outside, to the casual observer, but how do you know it's basement is not really a (bodyswapper pod) production facility to ship their (human replacement pods) all over the world?.... Ha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaah!!!...
