IdeaSmith correctly guessed last week’s building: The Bibi-Heybat Mosque in Baku, Azerbaijan. The mosque was first built on the site between 1264 and 1266. At this point, the mosque was a small structure decorated with blue tile, meant to mark the grave of a holy woman named Okuma Khanim.

The mosque was destroyed by Stalin’s forces in 1934. Since the Bibi-Heybat Mosque has been rebuilt. The dedication ceremony that followed the reconstruction took place on July 11, 1997.
