Which Members Will Take Risks?

In assembling a project team, understanding how its members will respond to difficult situations can help enormously to get the job done. Identifying risk takers and those who are not can allow managers to divide up the project tasks more efficiently. This research study suggests that people with high cognitive ability are less likely to be risk averse.

Team theory preaches that the team will arrive at a better solution than any team member could produce by working alone. Powerful evidence exists to support this conclusion.

The project manager will tacitly encourage risk takers. Blame them if things go wrong, but take the credit if things work out.
