Of the estimated $100 million spent in the last six months by the Pentagon to repair damage from cyber attacks, it isn't certain how much was spent on problems caused by external attacks on the system or by Defense Department employee mistakes. Military leaders in the U.S. Strategic Command, responsible for protecting the military's information grid and offensive cyber warfare, called for a more pro-active solution.
