You ROCK! I am personally gratified that you have mastered the art of adding graphics to your posts! A trifle over the top here, perhaps, but given the topic - NAH! No worries... You get a:

My best sound track vote goes to Meatloaf's work in "Rocky Horror Picture Show"

No "Tommy and the Shandells"??? Thank you, they do NOT belong on the list.
Who, Grreatful Dead, Guess Who, BTO, Zep, Stones occasionally. Most obscure album I own "Klaatu"

When I heard them on the radio in 1976 during a long road trip, the rumor being passed was they were the reincarnation of the Beatles. Thats why I bought the LP. Never heard of them again. Until you posted, that is.

Yeah, there was a lot of eyewash about them being the Beatles in disguise, or the album being a studio session that was never released on Apple, but they were/are a Canadian band with a couple of members who happened to sound a little like John and Paul. Have no idea if they are still in the business... Truth is, I only ever saw a single copy (not mine) of a Klaatu album, myself.

Like any other form of art its personal choice and peer group at the time. The number of greats is end list. My choice would be Tangerine Dream.

You have missed a Great International Rock Band "ABBA", that gets my vote, also enjoyed the Bee Gee's and The Shocking Blue (bought the same album twice).
Some of you may not have been on an expense paid Med. Cruise but they were Great.
I've digitized my record albums onto CD's and they sound better then ever, now I hope to recover my 7" reels, about 300 hours of Rock-N-Roll, my Teac tape decks can do 7" reels, 8 tracks and cassettes, if they aren't all stuck together. Also had a 3 inch mini-tape deck at one time?
Also recovered & digitized all my slides and pic's of the 60's and 70's. Not too embarrassing.

Somehow, "industrial metal" and "Carpenters" just don't seem to go together. You're talking ironworkers vs woodworkers here, two totally different craft trades.

I don't think you could ever place the Carpenters in a rock category although Richard Carpenter is a pretty good guitarist & can certainly rock when he wants to.

Now you're just confusing things more, throwing stonemasons in with woodworkers. Not enough we're trying to sort them out from the ironworkers, just toss another craft trade in the mix! Sure, it's easy for you, you don't have to sort this mess all out, but somebody needs do it... <grumble, gripe, grouch>

Not a mention of Bob Dylan or Jim Morrison. Bands yes but there was always the star that made the band

I don't think he was putting Shatner and Nimoy in the same category as the boy bands. He was probably saying that when boy bands cover a rock classic such as Light My Fire, they sound as strange as Shatner and Nimoy when they sing.
FWIW, I remember hearing a couple of songs by Nimoy on the Dr. Dimento show. Shatner was probably too strange for his show.
