TWA is easy - Trans Word Airlines or

Twa is a Bantu word used by hunters (not really bantu) - I thought it could be translated by a 4 lettered word starting with a F.

TWA & STEL are used in http://www.rkiinstruments.com/pdf/gx2001.pdf and seems to be applicable in the USA. ask them.

TWA could mean sTart to Worry Alarm -

Both terms refer to the concentration of harmful substances. TWA = threshold weighted average (I think it pertains to allowable 8-hour exposures). STEL = short term exposure limit, for 15-minute exposures. See also OSHA and NIOSH.

STEL = Short Term Exposure Level (Usually in Gas Detection)

TWA = Time Weighted Average (Usually in Gas Monitoring)

Hope it helps.
