What - from scratch?

Surely an earlier design can be cloned and altered to suit?

Follow the international and local standards and regulations relating to your specific application and country.

If you are not qualified to perform this type of design work, don't.

If you don't know what bus bar size to start with...you have no business designing a sync panel, or is this well disguised homework question ?? Regards, Sapper

Or you can try the Copper Development site:

Lots of info on copper usage from electrical, plumbing, and architectural.

In my opinion to operate the three 1500 kw DG sets in parallel, there is no need to have 8000 A Busbar in the Switch board

It is enough if we have bus bar capacity of 5000 A.

But you have to suitably locate the incomer and out going breakers in the switch board.

For one DG at cos φ = 0.8, A = 1,500,000/(415 √3/0.8) ≈ 2609. Depending on switchboard topology, the bus bars might need to carry 2609, 5218, or 8427A; with possible further correction for continuous loading.

The previous 8427A should have been 7827A (arithmetic mistake),

When all 3 sets are feeding the common busbars, what should be the SC withstand capacity of the busbars, considering a fault in busbars or in outgoing feeder?.

If you have no idea how to determine conductor sizes then you are the wrong person for this job.
