Is this question number 24 on your homework?

What happens to... what?

If this 'coil burn' is sufficient to start the building afire, then the other fans really won't matter, will they?

Depends upon whether the burnt coil causes a short circuit or an open circuit.

Shorted circuit and you won't know because you can't see the fan through all the smoke. You also can't tell because the firefighters made you get out or you wisely self evacuated when the sparks flew with a lot of smoke. Likewise the other fans won't rotate because the circuit is shorted out. If you wired the circuit correctly the fuse you put in the circuit will have tripped and no fans will rotate.

Open circuit and the fan in question will not rotate since there is no path for the electricity to flow in but the others will.

Also, I want half the credit for this question. You take the next one and I will take the one after that. Also if the teacher is a male and you are a female, a good smile is worth a higher grade automatically. If you are a male, hide.

Good Luck, Old Salt

advise not to wait for any happenings. Evacuate the room immediately and operate any manual fire announciating system to make others aware of the fire risk.

Dear Mr.shinde3520,

I presume - the 3 Fans are working in Parallel in the same circuit with common fuse.

As long as there is NO FUSE BLOWING in the circuit, on account of SHORT CIRCUIT, the other 2 Fans will continue to run.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that OP will fail the exam for poor comprehension and pathetic spelling skills.

A short circuit will operate the circuit protective device, and both fans will stop.

An open circuit will cause the fan in question to stop.
