It can't be that important or the ump would be aware of inflating temperature and barometric pressure before and after as a minimum.

The other consideration would be the inflating gas which could be anything and no one would know. The leakage through the walls would change with the gas.

So the whole thing is an exercise and I think the questions put out by the Ravens probably turned everyone into a sleuth.

If an person wanted to create a scenario for a football to lose pressure over a half period of play, all it would take is to fill it from a tank containing a partial pressure of hydrogen.

If the balls used in the afc championship were provided by the match officials, without previously being tampered by the teams, there would never be an argument.

Assuming the ideal gas law holds, about a 1 psi pressure drop would result. So if the balls were inflated to 11 psi at 70 F, out on the field they would be at 10 psi.

Well at least kids will be held accountable for adults cheating. I wonder how hard Mr. Goodell will wag his finger this time.
